Directions
This routeplanner is about highways, toll-ways, but no doubt, feel free to enjoy the well-paved secondary roads, taking you to the really beautiful scenery of Hungary...! Mind your speed: 90 km/hr. max. In villages 50 km/hr. At Nickelsdorf / Hegyeshalom you cross the Hungarian border. There is only a brief passport control, as Hungary is also an EU country, thus traveling is free, provided you are an EU citizen too. At the first petrol station on this M1 motorway, please buy a toll ticket (matrica) for the Hungarian Highways. One sticker is valid for both roads for 9 days, one month (havi matrica) or longer, as you may choose. Now you have to proceed by this M1 untill Budapest. Follow the signs through Budapest for the M3. The M Zero, just before BP, may open in the mean time the intersection between this MØ and the M3, where we have to go to, to reach our destination: Szilvásvarad. Follow the M3 motorway untill the exit of Füzesabony / Eger. Leaving the toll way turn to the right, and take the left lane to Eger! Follow the signs to Eger, at Kerecsend turn to the right. In the village take another turn to the right. In the centre of Eger you will find signs to Szilvásvárad via route 25. Half way route 25 turns to the left (to Ózd), here you have to go straight on. You will arrive in Szilvásvárad by a railwaycrossing. After 250 meters you will see our advertising sign on the right side of the road, turn here to the left on the Ady Endre út. This is a small road before a little green bridge. At the end of this road before another turn you will find the 'Walnuts Inn' (Diófaház) on the right side at number 12. In case you prefer to travel by Public Services, you will find here the timetables for busservices, and, for your conveniance, please find here the website of the Hungarian and International trainservices. (It is written in English too.)
